MONTHLY MEETING
September 9, 1993
The meeting was called to order by Camp Commander Bob Shaffer, followed by
the Pledge of Allegiance.
Other members in attendance were:
Joe Long | Bob Price | Ron Albert | Bob Yeager |
Conrad Kwolek | Chuck Mercer | Russ Jones |
No minutes were read at this meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
On July 4th, 4 members of the Camp participated in the activities at Lake
Lincoln. Bob
Shaffer represented the GAR and Joe Long, Russ Jones and Ron Albert were flag
bearers.
Ron's picture appeared on the front page of the Tribune.
Members of the Camp also attended the State Encampment at Gettysburg in June.
There was a rebuttal printed in the newspaper on the sale of the cannon at
Forest Hill Cemetery.
There will be a Lawyer present at the Association meeting to talk
about the action we will take against the Cemetery.
A motion to recommend to the Board to pay for hold of the window shades was
made by Russ Jones and seconded by Conrad Kwolek.
The Ladies Auxiliary will pay one-half and the Association will pay
the other half.
The motion was passed with no objection.
The sign for Open House was completed and painted by Paul Rushin from
Dunmore, PA.
NEW BUSINESS:
The first Open House hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary was held on September 5,
1993. We had
a great turn-out and we hope that attendance remains on the rise.
Maybe the sign will help.
A Testimonial for the new Ladies President, Peggy Frantz, will be held on
October 16, 1993 at the Ramada Inn in York, PA.
With no further business or discussions, a motion to adjourn was made by Joe
Long and seconded by Bob Price.
All were in favor.
Respectively submitted,
Robert C. Shaffer
Asst. Secretary
