The minutes
from the April meeting were read. A motion to accept the minutes was made by
Ron Albert and seconded by Bill Burns.
All were in favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read
the financial report.
It was regularly moved, seconded and referred to the Audit
Committee.
OLD BUSINESS:
Joe Long
reported that we still have not received dues from the 7 members in arrears.
Joe Long also
reported that there has been no reply from the first choice of bugler for
Memorial Day.
Dr. Rushmore volunteered to play taps in no one else is contacted.
Joe Long will
send Memorial Day notices to all Camp Members.
Bill Lindberg will get the notice in the paper.
NEW BUSINESS:
Mark Meyers
was presented with a Certificate of Membership by Commander Shaffer.
Joe Long
presented a bill for $16.25 for supplies and postage.
A motion to pay the bill was made by Bill Lindberg and seconded by
Russ W. Jones.
All were in favor.
Joe Long
presented some pictures of John Sanders who was a member of this Camp and
also a prisoner of war.
Commander
Shaffer gave a report on the dinner at the Six East Restaurant on April
17th.
The winner of the
April 30th drawing was Tony Donato.
The next drawing will be held on May 28th.
A photo will be
taken of all Camp Members at May meeting to be placed in a time capsule along
with a list of current members, the Auxiliary, the Civil War Soldiers and other
memorabilia.
This time capsule will be sealed in a ceremony on June 6th to commemorate D-Day.
It was decided
that Bob Price would sit with the dignitaries on July 4th.
Joe Long, Russ W. Jones and Russ P. Jones will carry the Camp, GAR and
Spanish American War Flags.
John M. Hart Jr.
from Scranton has applied for membership in the Camp.
Joe Long made a motion to accept him and Bill Lindberg seconded.
All were in favor.
His membership application will be presented at the next meeting for
committee approval.
A request was
made from the National Patriotic Instructor for contributions to the GAR
Memorial Fund.
Joe Long made a motion to send $10.00 to the fund.
This was seconded by Russ W. Jones.
All were in favor.
Bob Price
volunteered to give a talk about his grandfather at the June meeting.
With no further
business or discussions, a motion to adjourn was made by Joe Long and seconded
by Russ P. Jones.
