MONTHLY MEETING
November 10, 1994
The meeting was called to order by Camp Commander Bob Shaffer, followed by the
Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer by Chaplain Bill Lindberg.
Other members in attendance were:

The minutes from the October meeting were read and a motion to accept the
minutes was made by
Bill Lindberg and seconded by Russ
W. Jones.
All were in favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report.
Joe also brought to the attention of the Camp that the check for the
Per Capita Tax from March had not been cashed.
It was at this time that Commander Shaffer made a motion to cancel
this check and re-issue a new one.
Bob Yeager seconded the motion and all were in favor.
When the new check is issued, the stop payment fee will be deducted
from it. A
motion to accept the financial report was made by Commander Shaffer and seconded
by Bill Lindberg.
All were in favor.
OLD BUSINESS:
Bill Lindberg reported that the dinner meeting to be held on November 5th was
cancelled due to lack of interest from Camp members.
It was also stated that this dinner would be tentatively rescheduled
for February 11, 1995.
Bill Lindberg will look into reserving the Six East Restaurant.
Bob Yeager gave a report on the cannon issue.
The legal action is in motion and the complaint has been served.
Further discussion was held on changing the meeting schedule.
It will be decided at the December meeting.
Consensus seems to be to hold the meeting the same night as the Board
meeting.
The winner of the October drawing was Frank Cimini.
NEW BUSINESS:
Commander Shaffer appointed a membership committee to review the application
of Phil Jones.
All Committee members signed the application and Mr. Jones was welcomed as a
Camp member.
Joe Long mentioned that the National Committee is looking into the
possibility of holding the National Encampment here in Pennsylvania in 1998.
Joe wanted the Camp to consider the possibility of holding it here in
Scranton.
Further discussions will be held.
A Thank You note was received from the Ladies Auxiliary President Mary Jo Long
for the Camps donation.
A letter was read from Charles Young, Department Patriotic Instructor.
He is trying to raise money be selling chances for a reproduction
Enfield Rifle and other prizes.
At this time Commander Shaffer called for the nomination of Officers for the
upcoming year.
The nominations were as follows:
At
this time nominations were closed and all were in favor of the nominations.
Appointive positions to be filled by the newly elected Camp Commander at the
December meeting.
Joe Long presented a bill for $13.00 for the purchase of Membership Cards and
Applications for Membership.
A motion to pay Joe was made by Mark Myers and seconded by Russ P.
Jones. All
were in favor.
The winner of the 50/50 drawing for this meeting was Bill Lindberg who also gave
a $2.00 donation to the kitty.
With no further business or discussions, a motion to adjourn was made by Joe
Long and seconded by Bill Lindberg.
All were in favor.
