MONTHLY MEETING

The minutes from the March meeting were read.
A motion to accept the minutes was made by Bill Lindberg and
seconded by Bob Shaffer.
All were in favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report.
Joe also mentioned that the drawing held in March was won by Bill
Osborne and in April it was won by Steve Narsavage.
Joe also mentioned that we have two new members:
Clark Rightmire and Robert Sembach.
A motion to accept the financial report was made by Bill Lindberg
and seconded by Bob Yeager.
All were in favor.
The report was accepted and referred to the audit committee.
OLD
BUSINESS:
Joe Long reported receiving the By-Laws for the Department and Anna M.
Ross Camp.
Commander Jones handed out copies to Council Members and other
Camp Members.
Grave Site Restoration - Joe Long reported getting a price of $45.00 for
the base, which is too much for us to handle.
Cemetery personnel suggested putting down a rock base and
replacing the stone.
They will also put the stones in the ground.
Joe will get more info.
Joe also suggested getting out to place flags on veterans' graves.
It was decided to meet on Tuesday night, May 2nd at the Dunmore
Cemetery to begin.
NEW
BUSINESS:
At this time we were visited by the Ladies Auxiliary Patriotic Instructor
who asked if we would discuss paying 1/2 of the wreath to be placed at the
Cemetery on Memorial Day.
Joe Long discussed our expenses.
Bob Shaffer made a motion to pay half for the wreath.
It was seconded by Bob Price and all were in favor.
On April 22nd, Howard Wolfe represented the Camp at a Scout Council to present Certificates to new Eagle Scouts. The dinner was held at the Inn at the Abington's.
Joe Long suggested
the Camp donate $10.00 to both the National and Department Patriotic
Instructors.
We also discussed placing a full page ad in the Encampment Book, along with the
Memorial Association and Ladies Auxiliary.
A motion to pay these was made by Russ P. Jones and seconded by Bob
Shaffer. All
were in favor.
Commander Jones discussed the upcoming dinner to be tentatively held at the
Tripp House on Saturday, September 30th.
The Department Commander and Ladies Auxiliary President are scheduled
to attend. A
motion to hold the dinner on this date was made by Bill Lindberg and seconded by
Russ P. Jones.
All were in favor.
Joe Walsh from the Sons of New Jersey, will be rededicating the grave of his
relative on
Saturday, May 27th at St. Mary's Cemetery, S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre,
PA. Anyone
interested in attending should be at the Cemetery by 11:15.
With no further questions, business or discussions, a motion to adjourn
was made by Bob Shaffer and seconded by Russ W. Jones.
