The minutes from the May
meeting were read.
A motion to accept the minutes was made by Bill Lindberg and
seconded by Joe Long.
All were in favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:
Joe reported on May balance $1,843.96.
Received $44 interest on CD in April.
Received life members dues from National: $1,914.14 balance.
As of June, balance was $1,808.35
The members help fund has a balance of $160.
Checking account made $15 interest year to date.
3 members have still not paid their dues.
Sam Noone won the June drawing.
A motion to accept the Financial report was made by Bill Lindberg and
seconded by Russ P. Jones .
All were in favor and the report was referred to the audit
committee.
OLD
BUSINESS:
Copy of the deposition of Russ Pritchard and Norm Reese was received from
the Lawyer.
It will be on file in the Museum for anyone to read.
Memorial Day - We had 15 members at Dunmore, 1 member at
Shoemaker, 1 member at Williamsport and 1 member at Abington.
This is the most activity in 50 years.
Bill Lindberg and Joe Long went to the Services in Berwick.
An article appeared in the Pittston paper regarding the Essay Contest.
Discussion about the Open House and clean-up will be postponed to the next meeting.
NEW
BUSINESS:
No meeting in July or August.
Next meeting to be held in September.
Joe Long attended an auction of Civil War items looking for items for the
museum. He
did not find anything.
Need 4 people at the Fourth of July Ceremonies at Nay Aug Park. Joe Long,
Russ W. Jones and Russ P. Jones will attend.
Joe Long made a motion to drop 3 members: Joseph T. Adams, Russ Kaub and Mike
Ross.
The motion was seconded by Ron Albert and all were in favor.
Russ W. Jones brought up the idea of adding speakers to the sound system.
Joe submitted the application of Richard Kniffen.
Ron Albert vouched for him.
Membership committee consisted of Bob Yeager, Joe Long and Russ P.
Jones.
Bill Lindberg asked
if there was any questions or comments from the members for the Encampment.
With no further
business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was made by Joe Long and
seconded by Ron Albert.
All were in favor.
