MONTHLY MEETING
November 20, 1997
The meeting was called to order by Jr. Vice Commander Bill Lindberg,
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes from the October
meeting were approved as read.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:
End Balance as of October - $935.52
$186.00 in Members Help fund
13 Members have paid their 1998 dues.
End Balance for November - $598.47
A motion to accept the Financial report was made.
All were in favor and the report was referred to the audit
committee.
OLD
BUSINESS:
Deposition on cannon issue to be given on November 26 and the court date
has been
set for December 16.
No news on request for Griffin’s records from the National Archives.
Have also sent for records of Crippen.
Joe was told by Bud Atkinson to hold off on the purchase of the C & R.
We will wait until the updates are published.
Bill Lindberg checked the speakers from Carl Miller.
He said he feels they would be no good for us to use.
Bill also made two calls to members.
Bill spoke to Glenn Knight about the restoration efforts for the
Pennsylvania Monument.
NEW
BUSINESS:
Dunmore will hold a Memorial Day Parade on May 24th at 4:00 p.m.
We will need at least three members to carry flags, but all members
who can are requested to attend.
Mark Myers will carry the Camp flag.
Mark Myers made a motion seconded by Russ P. Jones to march in the
parade.
Ed Milford made a donation to the Museum of a butt plate from an Enfield rifle
which was sunk on a transport ship off the coast of South Carolina and a
pamphlet on Henry Gilmore’s Raid.
He also made a report about the Park Service planning the construction of a new museum to be built at Gettysburg. This museum will be operated by a private firm. Bob Yeager mentioned that he read in the N.Y. Times that it has been approved.
Joe Long, Bill Lindberg and Bob Shaffer attended the Remembrance Day Ceremony
at Gettysburg.
Joe reported that over 6,000 troops were present.
Help members fund won by Bill Lindberg.
With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn and
open nomination of Officers was made by Russ P. Jones and seconded by Joe Long.
All were in favor.
At this time nominations of Officers was held.
List of nominations are as follows:
Nominations were closed until the beginning of the next meeting.
Election of Officers will be held at the December meeting.
