MONTHLY MEETING
April 16, 1998
The meeting was called to order by Commander Russ W. Jones, followed by the
Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes from the March
meeting were approved as read.
A motion to accept the minutes was made by Joe Long and seconded
by Bill Lindberg.
All were in favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:
80 Members have paid their dues.
Gift of $7.00 received from Thomas Sheehan
No winner in the March 28th Drawing.
Help members fund $218.00.
No statement received from April, Joe to report in May.
Submitted per capita tax of $308.00.
A motion to accept the Financial report was made by Bill Lindberg and
seconded by Russ P. Jones.
All were in favor and the report was referred to the audit
committee.
OLD
BUSINESS:
Parade in Dunmore to be held May 24th.
The parade will start at the High School.
Joe suggests that we park in the Dunmore Cemetery.
Members marching should be present at 3:30 p.m.
Attire to be a dark suit, white shirt, shined shoes and a tie.
All participants have been confirmed for the Memorial Day services.
Bill reminded the camp members to think about any items that should be
brought up at the Department Encampment.
Joe brought in the essays from the 7th and 8th grades of West Side Middle School. Phil Jones will review the essays and hand them off to the auxiliary. They need to be returned to Joe by April 28th. The winners will be presented with a certificate and the bonds on May 5 when Joe visits the school for his Civil War talk.
The Department Commander will visit the Camp on May 21st at
approximately 8:00 p.m.
The camp meeting will be moved to 8:00 p.m.
Joe made a motion to present the Commander with a gift of $25.00.
The motion was seconded by Bill Lindberg and all were in favor.
NEW
BUSINESS:
Bill asked permission to borrow the American Flag.
All were in favor.
Joe mentioned that Howard Lane had not attended recent camp meetings because he
was in prison due to a personal matter.
The members has a general discussion regarding communication with the
Department.
Ron brought in an 1865 Maynard Carbine to show the members.
Commander Jones formed a committee to review the membership application of
Matthew Sandherr.
The committee approved the application.
The help members
drawing was won by Ron Albert.
He made a donation to the camp patriotic instructor’s fund.
With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was
made by Joe Long and seconded by Mark Myers.
