MONTHLY MEETING
February 17, 2000
The meeting was called to order by Commander Phil C. Jones, followed by the
Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes from the December meeting were approved as read.
A motion to accept the minutes was made by Russ W. Jones and seconded
by Ron Albert. All were in
favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:
End Balance as of 20 January - $3,166.82
Help members fund $237.50
58 Members have paid their dues
End Balance as of 17 February - $2,799.55
74 Members have paid their dues
Ticket winner for January 18 was Mary Schnider
Joe submitted receipts for $128.16 to reimburse his expenses
A motion to accept the Financial report was made by Ron Albert and seconded
by Russ W. Jones. All
were in favor and the report was referred to the audit committee.
OLD BUSINESS:
Motion made by Russ P. Jones and seconded by Ron Albert to reimburse Joe
Long $25.00 for expenses incurred to represent the camp at the funeral of Ed
Walter.
Joe Long reported that the Scott Township Historical Society visited the
Museum and later donated $50.00 to the Museum.
The cannon matter is still open. The lawyers are pursuing Russ Pritchard and will get the court involved if he doesn’t respond soon.
Commander Jones presented the Camp with a large calendar on which to record
important events relevant to the Camp.
NEW
BUSINESS:
The
Department Commander awarded the Camp a new Membership Award for being among the
camps in Pennsylvania that achieved the membership goal for the year.
The
family of Carl Miller informed the Camp that they would be donating his
collection of Civil War books and artifacts to the Museum.
On January 30, members including Joe Long, Bob Shaffer, Phil Jones, Russ
P. Jones and Bob Yeager helped move the books into the Museum.
Joe
Long purchased a stamp which will be used to stamp each book.
A motion was made by Russ P. Jones and seconded by Ron Albert to
reimburse Joe $25.00 for the cost of the stamp.
Joe
Long reported that he traveled with Mary Jo Long, National Auxiliary President,
to lay a wreath at the Lincoln Memorial.
Memorial Day - There is a chance that Joe Long will not attend.
He suggested one of John Hart’s family to play Taps.
Alternatively Chris Conforti may decide to.
He will report at the next meeting.
The
Camp took up a discussion of acquiring cabinets of some type for the Museum to
display the new artifacts.
The
50/50 drawing was won by Ron Albert who donated his winnings to the Camp.
With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was made
by Joe Long and seconded by Bob
Yeager. All were in favor.
