MONTHLY MEETING
September 21, 2000
The meeting was called to order by Commander Phil C. Jones, followed by the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Other members in attendance were:

The minutes from the June meeting were approved as read.
A motion to accept the minutes was made by Russ W. Jones and seconded
by Ron Albert. All were in
favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:
End Balance as of June $2,778.90
End Balance as of July $2,647.28
End Balance as of August $1,997.62
End Balance as of September $2,331.23
2 CD’s with a value of $4,868.64
Help members fund $244.00
June & July no winners to date
August 19th winner was Mary Jane Bannan
A motion to accept the Financial report was made by Bob Shaffer and seconded
by Ron Albert. All were
in favor and the report was referred to the audit committee.
OLD BUSINESS:
Essay winners not available and will be given at October meeting.
Luncheon: Joe Long made a motion to the following:
That we pay for the dinners for the PCinC and his wife, Department
Commander and his wife and also give the Department Commander a $15.00
gift. Bob Shaffer seconded
and all were in favor.
An Open House at the Museum was also discussed and Ron Albert consented to be there from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Secretary Shaffer reported that after the Open House, a re-dedication of PCinC Wheeler’s great, great grandfather’s grave would be held at the Avoy Christian Church outside of Lake Ariel, PA.
The
Camp By-Laws have been signed and Joe Long has the signed copy and will bring
them in to be filed with the other correspondence.
The
issue of Press Correspondent was tabled until October.
The
phone issue was also tabled until October.
Artifacts: Joe Long and Ron Albert met at the Museum for 2 Thursday
night in an attempt to get the estimate of the artifacts completed.
As it stands, they are valued over $35,000.
The
mid-year meeting will be held in Carlisle, PA on October 21st at 9:30
a.m. Joe Long made a motion that
the Camp pay the cost of the luncheon for each member that attends.
Bob Shaffer seconded and all were in favor.
Book Shelves - Commander Jones to notify Bob Yeager on progress.
Joe
Long held off on the purchase of the table because of the $238.00 light bill.
The bill was paid so as not to stir up any bad feelings with the
Landlords. The power in that area
is now turned off and will be kept off.
Someone has moved in temporarily, but he will pay for his electricity.
NEW BUSINESS:
The
applications for 1 Associate (Paul Dombroski Jr.) and 1 Son (John W. Schaefer)
were presented. A committee
comprised of Russ W. Jones, Joe Long and Ron Albert signed in our new members.
Joe
Long presented a bill for $160.03 which was to replenish his fund and to cover
some out of pocket expenses he incurred.
A motion was made by Russ W. Jones and seconded by Bob Shaffer to give
Joe his check.
With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was made
by Joe Long and seconded by Bob Shaffer.
