OLD BUSINESS:

Book Shelves – still no word from Bob Yeager.  Russ P. Jones will contact the contractor.

Artifacts from the Miller’s – Joe typed another list and sent it out.  Totals now $39,661.30.

NEW BUSINESS:

Correspondence – Secretary Shaffer read a letter of the passing of Ivan Frantz Sr.  Joe and Mary Jo Long attended the services in York.

Secretary Shaffer also read a correspondence from Department Secretary Kern on the proper way to fill out Form 22 “Installations of Officers.”  It also stated that the Department Commander is to be the Installing Officer or he can appoint someone from the Camp to take his place.

Remembrance Day – Joe and Mary Jo Long will be attending the Ceremony and Banquet.  Joe will be the Master of Ceremonies at the Banquet.  He also suggested that we all think about attending the next Department Encampment to be held in Johnstown next June.

Mid Year Meeting – All went well.  Joe Long and Lee Walters had been appointed as a Long Term Planning Committee.  Their function is to develop ideas to help Camps raise awareness of the Sons.  One idea was to have the Department Commander appoint a few members, Past Department Commanders and/or Past Camp Commanders in good standing, to go to the Camps having problems to help them settle their differences or any other problems they may be having.

Nomination of Officers for next year was opened.  A discussion followed, but with limited time and members, a motion to close the nominations was made by Russ P. Jones and seconded by Ron Albert.  All were in favor and nomination were deferred until the December meeting,

With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was made by Bob Shaffer and seconded by Russ P. Jones.  All were in favor.

Respectfully Submitted,

Robert C. Shaffer

Secretary
