The Department Commander re-scheduled his visit for the March meeting.

Artifacts - Joe typed another list and sent it out. Totals now approximately $42,507.30.

Russ P. Jones and Joe Long met with Paul Dick of J.P. Stairs and got estimates on the bookshelves. They were given 2 ways to go: birch plywood at $395.00 or poplar at $500.00. This would include staining to match existing units and installation. The contractor seemed to think the birch plywood would be better and he could possibly start on Monday the 20th if he got an OK.

The Steamtown Exhibit is now open. Secretary Shaffer made an info sheet and Joe will get copies made and deliver to Steamtown.

NEW BUSINESS:

A work session is scheduled for Saturday, March 24th at 9:00. Everyone is urged to attend.

Memorial Day is close at hand. Joe will contact John Hart about playing Taps. Bob Shaffer will contact Rev. Arthur Davis about being the Guest Speaker. Father McLaughlin will also be contacted to sing the Lords Prayer. We need someone to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. He also read a correspondence from the Dept. of Interior, Ella S. Rayburn, Curator of the Steamtown National Historic Site thanking us for our support and she also sent along some complimentary passes. There was also a correspondence from Lee Walters who is a member of the Long Range Planning Committee. He is looking for suggestions on how to help Camps with programs/fund raising activities and how to increase member participation and recession.

Joe brought up about setting up a day or two for the purpose of placing flags on the graves of Civil War soldiers. We have 3 cemeteries to do and if could take a couple days to do.

Treasurer Long presented bills and requested to reimburse his expense fund.

Joe Long made a motion to send a $25 basket to the woman at Sandvik who has been doing the Certificates for the Camp (since 1995). Bob Shaffer seconded and all were in favor.
