MONTHLY MEETING
EZRA S. GRIFFIN CAMP #8
March 15, 2001
The meeting was called to order by Commander Phil C. Jones, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes from the February meeting were approved as read. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Russ P. Jones and seconded by John Schaefer. All were in favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:
End balance was $1,324.32.
Help members fund $266.00
45 members have paid their dues
March ticket winner - MaryJo Long
January ticket winner - Ralph Homyack
A motion to accept the Financial report was made by Russ W. Jones and
seconded by
OLD BUSINESS:
Department Commander Young spoke about problems with 4 camps that may be
suspended. Two of these camps may be off the list, but time will tell. Other
than that, the Department is doing well. The number #1 problem at hand is
communication, and this is being addressed daily. Commander Young's son Pete was
also present, and was said to be on the Pre-Registration Committee for this
year's Encampment in
Bookshelves - material is on order and work to be accomplished on the
24th at the clean up.
Secretary Shaffer reported that the info sheets are in process of being printed.
The work session is on for the 24th of March at the Museum.
The 2nd of May is scheduled for the placement of flags on veterans graves at the
cemeteries.
Memorial Day is going well. Joe will contact
Joe will deliver the basket to Sandvik when he has the opportunity.
Decals -
Cannon update - Russ P. Jones read an "Order from the Court to Pay Judgment"
from the firm of Oliver, Price and Rhodes. Maybe we are getting a little closer
to a settlement.
NEW BUSINESS:
Joe Long led a discussion on the idea of having wooden racks made to hold the
artillery shells we have in the Museum. The cost would be $5.00 each and he had
two types. Will need approximately 18 of them. Joe will check on other designs
for the next meeting.
Secretary Shaffer read correspondence from Senior Vice Commander Charles Kuhn
from Gettysburg Camp #112 about their banquet in April. Anyone can attend. Make
reservations.
Joe Long discussed the Camp taking out an ad in the Encampment Book.
