MONTHLY MEETING
The meeting was called to order by Commander Phil C. Jones, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes from the March meeting were approved as read.
A motion to accept the minutes was made by Russ P. Jones and seconded
by Joe Long.
All were in favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:
End balance for July was $1,216.33
Help members fund $226.50
59 members have paid their dues
April ticket winner – Butch Bazzari
A motion to accept the financial report was made by Bob Shaffer and seconded
by Russ P. Jones. All were in favor and the report and the report was referred
to the audit committee.
A discussion on the paying of dues was held, but more time would need
to be spent in this issue to resolve.
OLD BUSINESS:
Commander Young conveyed to Joe Long that he had a great time visiting the Camp.
Russ P. Jones reported that the bookshelves have been completed and we are also checking on getting shelves for the glass cabinets.
The work session went as well as could be expected. Members attending were Joe Long, Bob Shaffer, Russ P. Jones, Russ W. Jones and Auxiliary member Danielle Shaffer. After the session and a short lunch we visited the Steamtown exhibit. It is a good exhibit and the painting is great. Bob Shaffer reported that the info sheets were printed and placed near the display at Steamtown.
Ron Albert reported that the Montrose Historical Society would be meeting shortly to discuss storage space.
Memorial Day is going well. John Hart will play Taps. Father McLaughlin and Reverend Davis are now confirmed. Howard Wolfe will check on Scouts for the Pledge of Allegiance and Gettysburg Address.
The night for placing flags in Veteran graves is May 2nd at 6:00
pm.
Joe is still checking on the racks for the artillery shells.
NEW BUSINESS:
Joe Long led the discussion on the
Joe Long made a motion that we pay the dues of John Ferry as he is doing
well, but has some hardships.
Bob Shaffer seconded the motion and all were in favor.
Another work session is scheduled for May 12th at 9:00 pm.
Joe Long submitted a bill for $28.22 for the Department Commanders at Terry’s
Diner. Bob
Shaffer made a motion to pay Joe’s bill.
John Schaefer seconded and all were in favor.
Secretary Shaffer reported that member Clifton R. Moore from Jermyn had died
recently.
Attorney Jim Reid gave a brief status of the cannon issue and how we should
go about getting the settlement that we deserve.
He asked for a strategy of how to proceed to recover this settlement.
With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was
made by Bob Shaffer and seconded by Ron Albert.
