OLD BUSINESS:

Civil War Roundtable of Dallas invited Camp members to attend a talk on Battery A, 1st Tennessee Light Artillery.  Speaker to be Michael Dec.  Not much discussion due to the fact it was to be held on our meeting night, February 20th.

Raffle ticket sale to continue, but a reduction of the amount to be given the Auxiliary.

Bob Shaffer received the Life Membership card for Don Cahoon.  Two dates were suggested for the luncheon; Saturday April 26th or Saturday May 3rd.  It was suggested that April 26th be the day and we invite Don’s wife and family and also the Miller family and present them with a plaque for their donation to the Museum.  The Department Commander will also be invited to this luncheon.  A motion was made by Joe Long that the Camp pays for the dinners of the Commander and his wife, Don and his wife, and the Miller family attending.  This motion also covered the plaque for the Miller family and a letter opener engraved with for Don with his 50+years of dedication to the Memorial Association.  Bob Baker seconded the motion and all were in favor.  Joe Long told the       members there were 5 generations of Cahoon's that belonged to our Camp.  Russ P. Jones will be the

Master of Ceremony and he would also recite some comments on Don’s tenure.  Joe Long will give comments on the Miller family and their donation.

A motion to give the Commander $25 towards his expenses was made by Russ P. Jones and seconded by Bob Shaffer.  All were in favor.

It was suggested that we invite Father McLaughlin from the University of Scranton and ask him to give the Benediction and Prayer.

Secretary Shaffer relayed the thanks and gratitude from the Searfoss Camp for the donation of the American Flag and staff.  They were also impressed with the plaque that was on it.

NEW BUSINESS

Secretary Shaffer presented the application of one Regular member Gary Pope, whose application was received after the meeting in December and two Associate members, Michael Grayson and Robert McDonough.  A committee was appointed by Commander Albert consisting of Bob Baker, Phil Jones and Russ P. Jones to review the applications.  After review, the members approved and signed the applications.

Russ P. Jones, Secretary of the Memorial Association, reported that since Mark Myers had been dropped from the Camp his term on the Board would have to be filled.  A motion was made by Joe Long that Howard Wolfe fill this seat.  Russ P. Jones seconded and all were in favor.  A report would be made to the Board about this decision.  It was also noted that Don Cahoon would be notified about his seat on the Board and he would be asked to remain, this is a Court appointed seat, until a replacement could be found in Lackawanna County.

Secretary Shaffer reported that he had received correspondence from the Lincoln Luncheon committee.  The luncheon is sponsored by Gettysburg Camp #112 and would be held on February 8th, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Historic Dobbin House Tavern in Gettysburg.

With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was made by Bob Shaffer and seconded by Joe Long.  All were in favor.
