MONTHLY MEETING

 EZRA S. GRIFFIN CAMP #8

November 18, 2003

 

The meeting was called to order by Commander Ron Albert followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Other members in attendance were:

The minutes from the October meeting were read.  A motion to accept minutes made by Michael Grayson and seconded by Bob Baker.  All were in favor.

 

FINANCIAL REPORT:

Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:

     Corrected balance for October was $1,508.07

     September ticket winner was John Simchecker

     October ticket winner was #730; Name not known will list at next meeting. 

     Joe mentioned the “help money” fund has not been replenished with a drawing and suggested it be considered.  The Fund has a balance of $233.50 at this time.

     Ending balance after payment of bills approved last month leaves current balance of $1,507.49 in camp account at this time

 

A motion to was made to accept report and all were in favor.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

It is expected that the Department Commander will visit the camp in March or April.

 

Membership Certificates were presented to recent members Bob & Ray Sulger.

 

Howard Wolfe will check into clear tube to use as protection for NY flag in Museum.

 

Joe spoke of his visit to Easton concerning sale of cannons by town.  He reported that the sale has been stopped but it is necessary to be aware of the problems that are on going concerning civil war cannon sales.

 

Joe mentioned the Remembrance Day celebration in Gettysburg and encouraged all Camp Members to try to attend next year.

 

Next monthly meeting December 18, 2003.  Christmas Meeting & Election of Officers.

 

A motion was made to adjourn the regular meeting and begin the nomination of Officers for the new year by Bob Baker and seconded by Mike Grayson.  All were in favor.

A motion to close nominations was made by Ray Sulger and seconded by John Schaefer.  All were in favor.
