MONTHLY MEETING

The meeting was called to order by Commander John M. Hart Jr. in ritualistic manner followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a Roll Call of Officers.

The minutes from the September meeting were read and a motion to approve was
made by Bob Baker and seconded by Bob Sulger.
All were in favor.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:
Help money was $ 214.00
End balance was $2043.42
October ticket winner – Mary Jane Bannan

MEMBERS IN DISTRESS:
Lt. Alan
Sweeney no longer receiving chemo.
Lt. Dave Heisler’s mother-in-law passed away.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEES:
Brothers Wolfe, Baker and Shaffer reviewed and accepted the applications for
member Craig Kelly and Junior Jake Hoffman.
Commander Hart then suspended the meeting and in lieu of holding nomination
of Officers for the upcoming year, took the floor and nominated the following
Brothers for offices:

The nominations were approved unanimously by the Brothers present.
OLD BUSINESS:
Sr. Vice Commander Ray Sulger brought up the issue of making minor changes to
the By-Laws, such as, address and new additions made by National and Department.
Commander Hart appointed a committee of Sr. Vice Commander Ray Sulger,
Bob Baker and Steve Thompson to review the By-Laws and suggest the necessary
changes and additions.
Howard Wolfe commented on the Junior Associate membership issue
stating that according to the National CNR they will be part of the 33% of the
total number of members.
Ray Sulger will review the numbers and stats and get back to the Camp
at an upcoming meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
Joe Long suggested that as many members as possible show up at the Museum on
Saturday, the 18th, to help in the clean-up and finish painting
within the Museum.
He suggested we have a roster for the day of the Open House of who
will be there to help.
He also stated there would be a memorial Association Meeting on
Tuesday, the 21st of October at 7:00 p.m.
Bob Baker reported that the Factoryville Borough Council is seeking funding
for the Historical Building which, according to all, still belongs to the GAR.
They will be forwarding all necessary information to the National
Organization.

Commander Hart reported that the SVR is holding a raffle to help with the
Lincoln Monument for Nay Aug Park.
The prize will be a cold cast bronze bust of Abraham Lincoln in stove
pipe hat.
There will be 500 tickets printed and one ticket will be sent to each member.
James Getty of the Gettysburg Camp will be here to dedicate the
monument in February.
Commander Hart suspended the meeting and had the Guard invite the Ladies to
our session to discuss the Christmas party, which it was decided that the 11th
of December would be the date.
It was also decided the Ladies would take the lead on this project and
have a buffet style catered dinner.
He also asked their assistance with the upcoming Open House.
Commander Hart reported that he would need to secure a pi k-up truck
and helpers to get tables and chairs from the Antique Car Club.
Howard Wolfe reported that Dale Keklock donated a picture taken in 1879 of a
few Camp members standing near a Civil War Monument (identity unknown).
Commander Hart turned the meeting over to Department Senior Vice Commander
Howard Wolfe for the purpose of initiating our newest member, Craig Kelly.
With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was made
and the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.
