OLD BUSINESS:

Joe Long suggested that we have a cleanup day scheduled before our Open House in May, which will be held on the 4th Saturday of the month right before Memorial Day.  He also stated that anyone that will be present should let Secretary Shaffer know ahead of time.

There will also be an Open House on March 20th and 21st.   On Saturday, Joe Long and Dale Keklock will be at the Museum.  On Sunday the 21st, the children’s Library will be hosting a month long program on the Civil War.  The program starts at 2:00 pm and will end at 5:00 pm.  Commander Sulger and wife, Mary Rose, will be in period dress at the Library and Joe and Scott Teeters and sons will be at the Museum.  On April 11th, the Library will be hosting a Victorian Tea and Fashion Show.  Camp Member Gary Roche will be there to do a presentation.  Joe Long and Ray Sulger will be at the Museum.

Memorial Day: Ceremony will commence at 10:30 and members are asked to be present at 10:15 am.  Either Commander Sulger or Joe Ferrara will read Logan’s Orders.  Scott Teeters will get the folding chairs.  Cheryl Kashuba, well known for her History of the Region, will be the Guest Speaker.  Ladies President will give greetings.  Judy Wolfe will give the Invocation and Scott Teeters will give the Benediction.  A complete list of participants will be put together by Commander Sulger and given to Howard Wolfe who will publish the Program.

NEW BUSINESS:

Joe Long reported that anyone attending the Department Encampment should let Secretary Shaffer know so that Credential Cards can be typed up for the attendees.  The 2011 Department Encampment will be held in Scranton.  Joe has contacted the Radisson and other will be  approached before a final decision is made on where the Encampment will be held.  Members on the list are:  Howard Wolfe, Joe Long, Ray Sulger, Joe Ferrara and Craig Kelly.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

Howard Wolfe brought up on the floor that we should consider having a Member speak at a monthly meeting about some aspect of the Civil War or his Ancestor or just something that might be of interest to the Group.  This will enhance a person’s speaking experience and maybe ready him to fill an Office in the near future.  The talk or show-and-tell should last about 10 minutes.

The 50/50 drawing was won by Dotty Kelly.

With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was made and the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.

Respectfully Submitted,

Robert C. Shaffer

Secretary
