MONTHLY MEETING

 EZRA S. GRIFFIN CAMP #8

October 20, 2011

The meeting was called to order in ritualistic manner by Commander Robert A. Sulger followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a Roll Call of Officers.

Other members in attendance were:

Ray Sulger

Craig Kelly

Joe Long

Frost Decker

Dale Keklock

Howard Wolfe Don Holdridge Steve Thompson
Scott Teeters David Teeters Douglas Teeters Steve Narsavage
Robert Baker

The minutes for the September meeting were read and a motion to accept by Joe Long and seconded by Ray Sulger.  All were in favor..

FINANCIAL REPORT:

Joe Long read the financial report.

A motion to accept the financial report was made and seconded.  All were in favor.

SICK MEMBER:

Joe gave a brief report on his condition.

OLD BUSINESS:

Joe Long and Ray Sulger reminded everyone that dues for the Camp and for members of the SVR were due and asked that they be sent in ASAP due to new regulations put into place that puts a deadline as of January 1st.  This is because National has to get reports to the IRS on time or we lose our 501C3 status.

The Ladies were asked to join us to discuss the Christmas Party.  The menu was finalized and the information will be sent to Daunyel to be attached to the meeting notes.

Joe Long brought up the fact that we will need participation from the whole Camp at the Open Houses.  The same 3 or 4 people are the only on4es that come out and help.

Howard Wolfe said he wants the Delaney-Delacy Guard at the Woolson Monument on Remembrance Day for the 11am Ceremony even though we were told the Gettysburg Blues do that job.

In light of the fact that our meeting room is a building that has the outer door locked and members have to "buzz" to get in, there seems to be a problem when a member arrives a little late and the Opening has already started, he has to wait.  Joe Long made a motion that if a member arrives the Guard will let him into the building but not into the Meeting Room until the Opening is completed.  This way he will not have to stand out in the cold.  Joe had said that some members had left rather than wait.  The motion was seconded by Ray Sulger and all were in favor.

Nominations for Officers were held for 2012.  All elected officers will remain the same.  Elections will be held at the November meeting on the 10th and the Open House will be on the 12th.

Patriotic Instructor gave a timeline of the Civil War for 1864.

With no further business, questions or discussion, a motion to adjourn was made and all were in favor.

Respectfully submitted,

Ray Sulger
