MONTHLY MEETING

 EZRA S. GRIFFIN CAMP #8

March 21, 2013  

 

The meeting was called to order in ritualistic fashion by Commander Frost Decker.

 

Other members in attendance were:

The minutes for the February meeting read and a motion was made to accept the minutes as read by Craig Kelly and seconded by Dale Keklock.  All were in favor.

 

The financial report was read by Joe Long with the following information:

     Help Money $263.00

 

A motion to accept was made by Craig Kelly and seconded by Dave Teeters.  All were in favor.

 

SICK MEMBERS:

Howard Wolfe - Chaplain Teeters will send cards.

 

CORRESPONDENCE:

Department Orders #9, 10 & 11 and Cancellation of Army Heritage Days.

 

OLD BUSINESS: 

Joe Long reminded everyone about the Open House on Saturday March 23rd.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Joe reported that his granddaughter, Brianna will give the Gettysburg Address at Memorial Day.  Bill Burns was contacted and he will get in touch with other re-enactors.  Joe will also check on the High School band and will talk with Howard Wolfe about a badge for this years' ceremony.

Craig Kelly asked about the Flag detail to decorate the 3 local cemeteries.  Will discuss further at the next meeting.  Joe has the flags.

Craig also suggested that we give Mayor Doherty an Honorary Membership for all that he has done for the Camp.  He also asked of other ways to raise revenue for the Camp.  More discussion to follow at the next meeting.

        

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

Patriotic Instructor Dave Teeters gave a brief talk on Union General Ulysses S. Grant.

           

The drawing for the Civil War plate was won by Jane Wagner.

 

With no further business, questions or discussion, the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.
