Howard Wolfe Giovan Lisi Dan Kachinski Bob Gregory

Guest: Chris Carty

The minutes for the March meeting read and a motion was made to accept the minutes as read by Dale Keklock and seconded by Scott Teeters.  All were in favor.

The financial report was read by Joe Long with the following information:

    Help money was $263.00

4 members will be dropped: 3 non payment of dues and 1 relocating

A motion to accept was made by Dan Kachinski and seconded by Howard Wolfe.  All were in favor.

OLD BUSINESS:

Joe Long reported that Memorial Day is set except for the reading of Logan's Orders.  Howard Wolfe graciously accepted to do the reading.

Joe also reported that we have an Open House on Saturday, April 20th and asks all available members to be there.  On May 31st, a teacher and students from North Pocono will be touring the Museum and the Historical Society.  We will also have an Adult education class from Marywood College in October.  Scott and Joe will also be doing a presentation in Tunkhannock.

Joe discussed on how he collects the Camp dues.  He starts in October and is finished in April.  It is a very tedious process and takes many letters and phone calls to secure everyone's dues.

Joe has sent letters to Ray Sulger and John Hart requesting a roster of the SVR.  No compliance to date.

NEW BUSINESS:

Joe asked that anyone attending the Annual Department Encampment to contact Secretary Shaffer so he can fill out Pre-Registration and Credential Cards.

Joe will be sending 86 more books out to be rebound.  If you should know of anyone who would like to donate to this cause, please let him know.  A sticker with the individuals name will be placed in one of the books.

Scott Teeters reported that the new caretaker of the building is Paul O'Hora.  He will be doing minor repairs in the bathroom.  Scott also suggested that we help with the renovations by doing a clean-up and minor painting.  Maybe we could get some students to help out.  We also need to schedule a work day to spruce up the hallway and Museum.

The Camp has declined to march in the upcoming Armed Forces Day parade on May 18th, but we will still hold our monthly Open House on that day.

Howard Wolfe reported that the Department is selling special badges for the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.  The cost is $20.00 and information can be found on the website.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

Secretary Shaffer and Dan Kachinski found a Minute Book for the GAR Post in Hollisterville.  Dan's relative was a member there.  Secretary Shaffer scanned the book and it is now on disc.  Will check to see if there are any others available.  There could be a Book #1 and Book #3.

With no further business, questions or discussion, the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.

                          Respectfully submitted,

 Robert C. Shaffer

    Secretary
