MONTHLY MEETING

 EZRA S. GRIFFIN CAMP #8

November 21, 2013  

The meeting was called to order in ritualistic fashion by Senior Vice Commander Dale Keklock.

Other members in attendance were:

Commander Frost Decker and Chaplain Scott Teeters were absent.

The minutes for the October meeting read and approved.  A motion was made to accept the minutes as read by Dave Teeters and seconded by Craig Kelly.  All were in favor.

The financial report was read by Joe Long with the following information:

     Help money was $248.00

     No October Winner - #714

A motion to accept was made by Mark Myers and seconded by Chester Kowalski.  All were in favor.

SICK MEMBERS:

Department Order #4 and National General Order #7

The meeting was then suspended and the Ladies were asked to step in to discuss the Christmas Party.  With a show of hands, 12 people were verified attending.  Cut off number is 18.  An e-mail will be sent to all members and if we cannot meet this number, the party will have to be cancelled.  We must know ASAP if any other members will be attending.  Danielle Shaffer suggested that we start earlier next year so that arrangements may be made well ahead of time.  It was stated to bring it up at the June meeting to think over when we break in July and August and then continue in September.  Craig Kelly suggested that if the Christmas Party has to be cancelled that we have a picnic in the late spring or early summer at either McDade Park or Nay Aug Park.  We will have to wait until we know the status of the party for this year.

The Ladies were excused and the meeting continued.

NEW BUSINESS:

Joe Long stated there will be no meeting or Open House in December.  Starting the new year we will meet on January 16, 2014 and an Open House on January 18, 2014.  Meeting in February to be February 20, 2014 and the Open House on February 22, 2014.

Nomination of Officers - All Officers will hold respective offices.  Two Council Members were nominated: Craig Kelly nominated Bob Shaffer and Howard Wolfe nominated Mark Myers.  Joe Long seconded these nominations and all were in favor.

Joe Long also asked for help with the Open House on Saturday, November 23, 2013.

Craig Kelly asked that we have a moment of silence for our 35th President, John F. Kennedy who was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, TX.  Mark Myers also reported that President Kennedy was also asked to speak at Gettysburg at the same time.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:        

Brother Mark Myers played a Patriotic musical selection on his accordion.

With no further business, questions or discussion, the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.
