CORRESPONDENCE:

22nd Annual Penn State Civil War Study Tour; Seven Days Battles, October 1 - 5, 2014 at Williamsburg, VA.  You can register alumni.psu.edu/travel - Space is limited.  For further information or details call 1-800-548-5466, option 5.

OLD BUSINESS:

Scott Teeters reported that Memorial Day went well, except for struggling with the sound system.  He also suggested that we think of ways to make the ceremony better.  His Church has people with a sound board and suggested we have them come to our next ceremony and try that out.  We may better hear from the podium.  A small ultra-quiet generator may be needed to supply the power.  Dale Keklock said that they may be rented for such occasions.  Scott also suggested that we place a diagram on an easel to show the people where they would be positioned for the ceremony.  Howard Wolfe suggested that we have someone available to show the participants where they should be seated, etc.  All in all, the weather was good, the Speaker was great and we had a good turnout.

Gerard O'Malley thanked the Camp and all the Members for the courtesy shown to him and his family at the presentation of the picture of his great-grandfather that was donated to the Museum.  He said it was so nice to have the Color Guard and everyone there to witness this event.

NEW BUSINESS:

Flag Ceremony in Nay Aug Park -  July 4, 2014: All Flag Bearers should meet at the Park at 10:15am.  Ceremony will begin at 11am.  Joe Long will represent the Camp and the Flag Bearers will be - GAR Flag - Mark Myers; Spanish American War Flag - Darren Pitts and Camp Flag - Dave Teeters.

Joe Long also said that there will be an Open House on Saturday July 19th from noon to 3pm at the Museum.  There will be no meetings in July or August, but will will still be holding Open Houses on July 19th and and August 23rd.

Joe Long reported that all registrations have been sent in for the Department Encampment and he will have the Credential Cards with him there.

SVC Dale Keklock asked if the Camp would be interested in putting on a program at the Archbald Historical Society.  It was decided that Joe and Scott will be there on Monday, October 13th.  They will set up at 6pm and the program will start at 7pm.  Anyone interested should attend.

SVC Dale Keklock then asked PDC Howard Wolfe to swear in the new Associate member Herbert Dunkle.

GOOD OF THE ORDER:

Howard Wolfe and Joe Long visited a Civil War collector in Harford.  He has an extensive collection which includes a framed flag of General Sheridan's Headquarters - flag consisting of two crossed swords and the Number 2 on it.  Howard suggested we have him bring it down to an Open House to show it off to the public.  Could be used in conjunction with the Sheridan Monument in Scranton.

50/50 winner was Craig Kelly.

With no further business, questions or discussion, the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.

Respectfully submitted,

Robert C. Shaffer
