MONTHLY MEETING

 EZRA S. GRIFFIN CAMP #8

January 15, 2015

 

The meeting was called to order in ritualistic fashion by Commander Dale Keklock.

The minutes for the November meeting were read.  A motion was made to accept the minutes by Hal Myers and seconded by Dave Teeters.  All were in favor.

 

Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:

     Help member fund $290.50

    December Ticket Winner - Frank Mesaris

 

A motion to accept was made and all were in favor.

OLD BUSINESS: 

Joe Long suggested that the Secretary draft a letter of appreciation to the Lackawanna County Historical Association for the use of their facilities and their hospitality.

 

NEW BUSINESS:   

Joe Long announced that there will be an Open House on Saturday, January 17, from 12 to 3pm.  He also said that our next meeting will be held on February 19th and the Open House will be held on February 21, 2015.  All are asked to attend and help out.

 

Commander Keklock donated a DVD on the program presented at the Archbald Historical Society by Joe Long and Scott Teeters.

 

The meeting was then suspended to invite the Ladies to join us for a presentation.  Susan Mertz of the Ladies Auxiliary donated a framed remnant of a dress worn by Mary Todd Lincoln.  It was from the Lincoln Association of Springfield, MO.  She also gave a brief dissertation on Mrs. Lincoln.

 

Mark Myers reported that his family is considering setting May 30, 2015, for the Memorial Dedication of his ancestor's grave.

 

GOOD OF THE ORDER: 

Pennsylvania Department Jr. Vice Commander Chris Carty was recognized and he gave a brief talk on the Department.  He also requested that if you haven't made reservations for the Lincoln Luncheon, please do so as soon as possible.

 

With no further business, questions or discussion, the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.
