MONTHLY MEETING

November 19, 2015

 

The meeting was called to order in ritualistic fashion by Commander Dale Kelock.

Before the opening of the meeting, Chaplain Teeters said a prayer for the families of Brother Raymond Sulger who had passed away and Brother Robbins who is battling cancer.

 

Joe Long made two motions: (1) that we send a card and a check for $75.00 to Ray's family, seconded by Bob Gregory and (2) send a card and check for $50.00 to the Robbins family, seconded by Hal Myers.  All were in favor.

 

The minutes for the October meeting were read.  A motion was made to accept the minutes by Dave Teeters and seconded by Bob Gregory.  All were in favor.

 

Joe Long read the financial report with the following information:

     Help member fund $336.00

     October ticket winner - Ron Amorini

 

A motion to accept was made by Mark Myers and seconded by Dave Teeters.  All were in favor.

 

SICK MEMBER:

The passing of Brother Ray Sulger

 

CORRESPONDENCE:

Return of $200.00 to treasury from Department Treasurer

 

NEW BUSINESS:   

The meeting was shorted for the nomination of Officers which are as follows:

     Commander - Craig Kelly

     Sr. Vice Commander - Hal Myers

     Jr. Vice Commander - Dave Teeters

     Secretary - Bob Shaffer

     Treasurer - Joe Long 

 

GOOD OF THE ORDER: 

Bob Gregory reported on Ray Sulger saying he was a good friend to all and did all he could for the organization.  His viewing will be Sunday night at the Margotta Funeral Home, Main Street, Peckville, and burial from St. Mary's Church in Dunmore with interment at Forest Hill Ceemtery on Monday, November 23, 2015.

 

Gerard O'Malley let us know about a PBS show on WVIA-TV entitled Mercy Street, airing in January.  A new six part Civil War hospital drama.

 

There will be NO meeting in December, just an Open House on December 19, 2015, from 12noon to 3pm.  It was also determined that our January meeting will be held on Saturday morning, January 16, 2016, at 10:30am, with installment of Officers, and the the Open House from 12noon to 3pm that same day.

 

A motion to adjourn was made by Hal Myers and seconded by Mark Zurinski.  All were in favor.

 

With no further business, questions or discussion, the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.
