The financial report was read by Joe Long with the following information:

May ticket winner - Adam McCormack

The financial report was approved as read.

SICK MEMBER:

Joe Long's brother-in-law passed away.

Bob Shaffer's brother passed away.

OLD BUSINESS:

Jim Jones gave a brief report on his activity as Eagle Scout Coordinator.  On June 5th, 2016, he and other members were scheduled to present seven boys with Eagle Scout Certificates at a Court of Honor in Clarks Summit, PA.  Unfortunately, because of a large number of boys being honored at the ceremony and the short time allotted, several presenters had to be cut from the program, our organization was one.  Certificates and a cover letter were handed to the adult coordinators of the Court of Honor so that each boy received their Certificate with our congratulatory note at the ceremony.  It is unfortuante that this happened at the last minute, however, steps will be taken to avoid having this happen again.

NEW BUSINESS:

Commander Kelly wished to pass along his thanks to all members for their hard work and professionalism at the Memorial Day Ceremony held at the Dunmore Cemetery.  At the ceremony, several people took pamphlets at our table and Brother Joe Long mentioned that he would like to try to move the table to a more visible location next year.

The sound system was a great success and many thanks to Brother Dale Keklock for taking a video of the ceremony.

Fourth of July - Flag Bearers - Spanish American War: Darren Pitts; GAR Flag: Mark Myers; Camp Flag: David Teeters.  Please arrive at the parking lot of Nay Aug Park at 10;15am and form at 10:30am and the program starts at 11:00am.

Next Open House will be held on June 18th from 12:30 to 3pm.  The following Open Houses are July 16th and August 20th.  Members can arrive early to help prepare the Museum.  Next meeting will be Saturday, September 17th at 10:30am with an Open House to follow at 3pm.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

The Lackawanna County Library System is entering the books of the Museum into their system.  Work is scheduled for Monday, June 20th.  Board Members are invited to attend to view the progress.

Brother Hal Myers spoke about the book "Cities Danger and Defense," a book he is giving to the Museum that tells many stories about past GAR members who were active in the history of Scranton.

Scott Teeters reminded the Camp that a service for departed Brothers is available, if so desired.  He spoke about the ceremony and plans to present more information at the September meeting.

Brother Joe Long also encourage members to attend Open Houses and help with Housekeeping duties.  Example: empty the trash and clean the coffee pot, along with any other things you may see.

Patriotic Instructor Darren Pitts relayed the activities of the 74th Pennsylvania from the Philadelphia area which was predominately a regiment of German immigrants.

With no further business, questions or discussion, the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.

                          Respectfully submitted,

                 Mark Zurinski
