COMMITTEE:

Eagle Scout Coordinator Jim Jones reported that there are no active requests for Eagle Scout certificates in June.  He thanked Brothers Jerry O'Malley and Mark Zurinski for standing in for him at the Court of Honor for Scouts Trevor Sabian and Brandon Kelleher held on June 4, 2017 in Clarks Summit.  Brother Mark commented it was his first event and he had a great time.  Brother Jerry said it was a great event and well organized.

OLD BUSINESS:

Commander Myers reported that the Trolley Museum was no good for our needs.  There is not enough room and only one way in and out, plus no handicapped access.  He also talked to another individual who requested space requirements.  Commissioner Bill Gaughan wants us to stay and will do all he can to help us.

NEW BUSINESS:

Joe Long requested volunteers to carry Flags at the Mayor's Flag Day Ceremony at Nay Aug Park on July 4th.  Giovan Lisi and Mark Zurinski will be there.  Dave Teeters will check his schedule and let Joe Know if he can be there.  If not, only the Civil War and Spanish American War Flags will be carried.  Craig Kelly also asked if there is a contingency plan in case of inclement weather.  At this point, Mark was put in charge and he would make contact with the others.

With a show of hands it was decided by majority that our next meeting will be held on September 9, 2017 at 10:30am, with Open House to follow at 12noon to 3pm.  We will also have an Open House on July 2nd.  Since there will be no meetings in July or August, the Open Houses scheduled for these months are as follows: July 1st and 15th and August 5th and 19th.

Sister Alana Zurinski was then asked to join us to give the particulars on the Bus Trip to the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg.  The scheduled date is September 23, 2017 and reservations are to be made no later than August 4, 2017.

The meeting was then suspended and the Ladies present were asked to join us.  Commander Myers then presented the Commanders Award to Secretary Shaffer for his outstanding dedication and achievement to the Camp.  Giovan Lisi was then presented with a Civil War book as a gift for his Birthday.  Dave Teeters graduated from High School.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

Patriotic Instructor Jerry O'Malley gave a brief talk on this day, June 17, 1864, when the Union forces assaulted Petersburg, Virginia.

With no further business, questions or discussion, the meeting was closed in ritualistic manner.

                          Respectfully submitted,

                                                                                   Robert C. Shaffer
