The Zoom meeting was called to order in ritualistic manner by Commander Jerry Skotleski.

Other members in attendance were:

Tim Chase

Officers Excused: SVC Hal Myers; JVC Rich Ryczak; Secretary Bob Shaffer and Treasurer Howard Wolfe

The minutes from the January meeting were read.  A motion was made to accept the minutes as read by Tim Chase and seconded by Craig Kelly.  All were in favor.

TREASURER'S REPORT:

There was no Treasurer's Report

EAGLE SCOUT COORDINATOR:

Covid has put things off and has slowed the process for many groups.  The Warrior Battalion of University of Scranton and 6 other colleges have been contacted about any upcoming awards.  The Committee is awaiting word from them on their progress.  The college award ceremony is expected to be in May.

CORRESPONDENCE:

All General Orders and Department Orders were emailed to members.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

The Yoder Foundation is having a meeting on Thursday, February 24th at 7:30pm to set up a "Supervisory Board" about the move of our Museum and other military organizations.

Hopefully with this meeting and the set up of a board, we will know any information about the possible move.

NEW BUSINESS:

The Appomattox Luncheon will be held on April 9th in Grove City, PA at Hoss's Restaurant.  If any Camp members are interested in attending, please see information on the Department website.

The Department Encampment will be held June 16th to 19th in Williamsport, PA.  If anyone is interested in attending, please contact Bob Shaffer about receiving your credentials.

Jim Talarico contacted Commander Skotleski on behalf of the law firm O'Malley and Langan.  Todd O'Malley asked Mr. Talarico to contact us to post our events to their newsletter.  Commander Skotleski invited Mr. Talarico to our Museum when we reopen.

Next meeting is March 19th and will be in-person - either at our Meeting Rooms or at the Scranton Public Library barring any major weather event.  Commander Skotleski would like to discuss upcoming events such as Lincoln Wreath Presentation, Flag Refurbishment and Memorial Day Presentation.

Our April meeting falls on April 16th and is the day before Easter.  Commander Skotleski was unsure if anyone had any initial family issues or trips scheduled.  He asked that all involved verify their schedules so that we can decide to move the meeting or not, due to the holiday.

Craig Kelly noted that the Camp will be refurbishing the flags at Dunmore and Forest Hill Cemeteries the first week of May.  He asked if we could look into the procurement of those flags as to last year there seemed to be some confusion on how, when and where the flags and money would be coming from.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER:

Auxiliary member Susan Mertz posted that the History Channel is having a show about President Lincoln on Sunday, February 20th, if anyone is interested in watching.

PATRIOTIC INSTRUCTION:

Jerry O'Malley gave a detailed presentation on the life and military career of General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson.  Jerry asked if there are any topics we would like to know more about, he will do the research and present them in his monthly presentations.

With no further business or discussion, the meeting was closed in ritualistic fashion by Commander Skotleski.

Respectfully submitted,

Jerry Skotleski
