SPECIAL MEETING

EZRA S. GRIFFIN CAMP #8

August 9, 2023

The meeting was called to order in ritualistic manner by Zoom Commander Jerry Skotleski.

Other members in attendance were:

Carter Atkins Bill Fischer Jim Jones Craig Kelly Rich Ryczak

The Special Camp Meeting was requested by Commander Skotleski via an email sent to all Camp members on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, providing the required two weeks' advance notice for special meetings.  The purpose for this meeting was for the sole purpose of a second reading and vote on the proposed Ezra S. Griffin, Camp #8 By-Laws change, following a successful first reading at the May Camp meeting.  The proposed Camp By-Laws change was attached to the meeting notice below:

The proposed change is as follows:

ARTICLE XVI - AMENDMENTS

SECTION 1.  A simple voting majority of members in attendance following the second reading shall be sufficient to make amendments, alterations, or deletions a part of the Bylaws.

This will now read:

A 2/3 vote of members in attendence following the second reading shall be sufficient to make amendments, alterations, or deletions a part of the By-Laws.

A quorum being present, the vote was taken and was unanimous in the affirmative, the By-Laws change being adopted.  Two brothers, Tim Chase and Bob Shaffer, were unable to attend the special meeting but made known their support for the By-Laws change; although their votes could not be counted due to their absence, Commander Skotleski appreciated their participation in making their voices heard.

Secretary Fischer will update the Camp By-Laws, obtains the Camp Commander's signature, and forward the updated By-Laws to the Pennsylvani Department Commander for review and signature.

This change brings our Camp By-Laws into line with Roberts' Rules of Order, National and Pennsylvania Department best practices for amending By-Laws.

With no futher business, the special Camp Meeting was closed by Commander Skotleski.

**Next Camp Meeting will be held on Saturday, September 16th at 9:30am (NOTE NEW TIME) at the Marketplace at Steamtown.

Respectfully submitted,

William E. Fischer Jr., PCC

Secretary
